Bowmore Over 12 Year Old Single Malt From 1980's

This is a rare bottle from the time when James Howat operated Bowmore Distillery in partnership with the Morrison family (1963 - 1987) hence the name Morrison Howatt Distillers Ltd.

This bottle was produced to meet a corporate order from Japan of 48 bottles. When the whisky was collected at the airport in Japan the recipient complained that the whisky was "cloudy" and promptly returned the order, obviously unaware that unchillfiltered whisky will always appear cloudy in the low tempreatures which travelling in the hold of an aircraft would create.

On receipt of the returned order the bottles were sold to distillery staff, consequently there has never been more than 48 bottles in existence and certainly fewer now.

This information was given to the vendor by a Customer Services manager at Bowmore Distillers at the time of these events.

54.5%ABV / 75cl.

In pristine condition with the level well into the neck.

Never boxed.
