Welcome to the 34th auction with our usual mix of heavy hitters and easy drinkers. Proof of the growing reputation of whiskies from Japan are a big rise of collectible and drinking whiskies, including a fabulous trio of Karuizawas - A Noh 1981 31 year old, a Noh 1981 32 year old and a magnificent 45 year old single cask. If that doesn't whet your appetite there is also a very rare 42 year from a bourbon cask. Rare Malts chip in with magnificent 1977 Brora 24 year old, Hillside 1970 25 year old and a 1979 19 year old St Magdalene. Ben Nevis shows its grandeur with a 1967 41 year old. We have a 47 year old from Lochside, a 48 year old SMWS Clan Denny and 2 50 year old Glenury Royals. We've also got a Karuizawa 1964 Mini & Glenfarclas 1953 Mini In Wooden Box With CD, as well as the two individually.

Ardbeg shows up with its usual panache and features a 1976 single cask as well as a Guaranteed 30 Year Old. There's a White Horse from 1955 and a Tomatin 40. The must have of the auction, however, is not even a whisky - it a flask, but just any flask. This is a collaboration between Macallan and Oakley Inc which has resulted in a hip flask for the most industrious and active. It's made with food-grade steel, carbon fibre and aerospace-grade aluminium! Or fiber and aluminum as the say in the US.

Speaking about the US, we are delighted to announce we will be able to step up our deliveries to the States, thanks to a new arrangement we have with an internationally-renowned shipper. You may wish to continue using our friends at Mailboxes etc but we will now be able to offer an alternative which may prove to be more competitive. We are also now offering the option to insure your bottles during shipment. The premium will be 3% of the hammer price and will be added to your totals at check out if you select that option. Another development we're excited about is that owners checking how their bottles are doing will be able to see them when they log in or refresh the pages. To do this, just click on “View bottles I’m selling in the latest auction” on the “My account” page'.

Our standing advice applies - jump in and have a good rummage around - there's bound to be something that catches your eye.

Kind regards from Glasgow
