Hello and welcome to the 41st Auction. As summer draws to a close we have a wonderful collection of whiskies rich in age, quality and rarity to keep you warm in the coming months.
Heading up this month's cavalcade of delights is a Highland Park 50 year old. This beautiful bottle comes in a sterling silver cage designed by Maeve Gillies and is one of only 275 released. There is also an incredibly rare Glenfarclas Set commemorating 10 years of the Eurofighter in the 73 Tactical Air Wing "Steinhoff", one of only 10 released.
Macallan is once again well represented with whisky from Gordon & MacPhail's Speymalt range from 1938 and 1945 as well as a Fine & Rare 1951. Father of Pop Art Sir Peter Blake returns as does Robert Burns with a Semiquincentenary. The Masters of Photography series bring us bottles from Rankin and Elliott Erwitt
Ardbeg storms in with an armada of Kildaltons as well as an Ardbeg Committee Millennium Cask and a 25 Year Old Hand Filled bottle from 1976. There are two bottles of Guaranteed 30 Year Old as well as a Lord Robertson.
We have two bottles hailing from the year 1936. First up is a VAT 69 and then we have another 50 year old, this time from Glen Grant. In fact we have 19 bottles that are 40 years and older this month as well blends from the 1930s through to the present day, such is the depth of this auction.
It is worth having a good rummage around in this month's auction as the depth of quality is particularly inviting. We are sure you will find many great items to tempt you.
And remember - don't lose your bottle!
Kind regards from Glasgow - The SWA Team
