Lot number: 411462

Winning bid: £4,600

This amazing work of art was created by Sir Peter Blake and Macallan to celebrate the godfather of pop art's 80th birthday. Working with David Holmes who designed Macallan's earliest advertising campaign and designer of The Queen's Diamond Jubilee bottlings, they have created a very personal and profoundly beautiful piece of work.

Housed in an oak box that is deceptively simply from the outside the interior is an explosion of colour, ideas and a miniature of Macallan from the 1930s through to the Noughties. The labels on the bottles have been designed by Sir Peter and the oldest comes from 1937 and the youngest hails from 2002.

There is also a book that contains illustrations and text about Sir Peter's life and The Macallan which has been printed on the finest Japanese paper.

There are numerous jokes and new thing to see every time you open the box, the mouse near the Noughties bottle represents the computer age! There is also a DVD.

Note: There is no outer carton
