Welcome to the 45th auction that marks the end of 2014 and the beginning of 2015. We hope the New Year brings you peace, prosperity and the drams of your dreams!
Some of those will no doubt be in this auction, including a mighty Macallan from 1946, wearing its 52 years proudly. It is joined from Easter Elchies by Macallan M, Annie Leibowitz Skyline, three Lalique Kazak Rearing Horses, the first appearance of the new Reflexion, and a 1950 Sepymalt.
Other highlights include some lovely old bottles from the 1930s, 40s, 50s and 60s. From 1939, there's a Glen Grant, there's an Old Elgin 50 year old from 1940, along with a Pride of Strathspey, a White Horse from 1941 and a Glenlivet from 1949. From 1953 we have a Glen Avon and from the Swinging Sixties we have an amazing Ardbeg 12 from 1966, a very unusual Cadenhead's Jameson's Bow Street Distillery and a 1963 Bowmore 30 year old.
From more modern times we have the complete collection of Manager's Choice bottlings (individual lots) and yet another incredible selection of Japanese whisky, including Karuizawa Noh from 1980 and 81, Jokers galore and three Yamazaki 25 year olds.
The latest releases of Brora and Caol Ila make an appearance, along with Lagavulin 25 and 30 year olds. Of course, the standard bearers are all present from the likes of Ardbeg, Balvenie, Flora and Fauna, and the Managers Drams.
A slightly quieter auction than of late, but with no lessening of quality, we're sure you will agree. As usual, our advice is the same. Log on, browse away and get bidding. And always remember - don't lose your bottle!
Kind regards from Glasgow - The SWA Team.
