William Grant founded Balvenie distillery in 1892 using the 18th century mansion known as Balvenie New House. It is built just below Glenfiddich sharing it's Robbie Dhu springs water source. The distillery still uses it's own floor maltings and locally sourced peat.
This is the first edition released in 2008. Matured in traditional whisky oak, then transferred to barrels shipped from Jamaica which had previously held sweet rum.
