We know there are lots of questions you may want to ask regarding the shipment of your bottles, hopefully we can answer them all below.
We use the finest quality packing materials and have an experienced team who are dedicated to providing the best service possible. You will receive tracking numbers from your relevant courier so you can monitor your shipment's progress.
We aim to deliver your bottles as quickly as possible, please be aware that it may take up to 14 working days from receiving your payment before your bottles are dispatched. We thank you for your patience.
Please note that these charges apply for standard size bottles. Larger bottles and items may attract additional shipping fees. If you're purchasing mini bottles, you are advised to get in touch with us regarding the shipping costs.
All UK & EU costs incur VAT at 20%. This is included in the prices below.
UK 1st bottle is £10.80 and EU 1st bottle is £24.
The EU rates apply to our Norwegian customers, without the VAT.
First of all please check you are in a State which permits alcohol shipments before you bid! We can ship to most of the US except:
There is a temporary suspension on shipments to New Hampshire.
Shipments to Hawaii will attract a £20 surcharge on top of the prices below.
The address must have some one over 21 years of age to sign for the shipment, so we can't use PO boxes. We also can't send to schools or universities.
We have difficulties with military bases. It is possible to ship but please contact us before bidding.
We can ship up to 10 bottles at a time. We're happy to combine orders with friends and family who are bidding with us. You can store your bottles for up to 6 months free of charge to allow you to accumulate bottles.
Your shipping fees include all US taxes and FDA fees where applicable. This is the cost to your door.
Our costs are per bottle. See below for total costs, i.e shipping 2 bottles is £80 total.
Once your shipment has cleared US customs we will contact you with a tracking number. This is an overnight service from customs so you won't have too long to wait!
We can ship to most countries in the world but if you can't see your country below, please let us know where you are and we will see what we can do.

Delivery to these countries is based on a volumetric cost. This means that your delivery charges are calculated according to the box size as well as weight. We will invoice you separately for these. Please get in touch for a quote.
Scotch Whisky Auctions are not liable for any customs fees which may be incurred in the destination country. You are liable for these and will be responsible for making sure they are paid correctly.
We have been asked by some buyers to falsify the values of the bottles on invoices to effect lower taxes and duties. We will absolutely not do this under any circumstance. The possible repercussions for you and us are not worth it!
There remain some difficulties getting whisky into China and Canada, but we have been using a company called Mailboxes etc who are happy to provide that service. They can be expensive for single-item auction wins, so we're happy to store whiskies here until you have built up several wins, making the carriage more economical. For our Canadian customers, the option is there for you to use a US address to ship to if you have a sympathetic friend or relative who will receive the box for you! Our standard US rates and T&Cs apply.
Unfortunately we are unable to ship directly to India due to the very strict licensing laws. Please get in touch and we will help where we can.
No you can store your bottles here free of charge for up to 6 months. After that a storage fee will apply. You can decide to enter your bottles back into auction at any time while storing them here.
Please note that payment for bottles, regardless of whether you are shipping them or storing them for delivery later, payment must be made within 7 days of the auction closing.
Yes, all our packages require a signature by someone over 18 years old (for the UK) or over 21 years old (for the US).
You can opt to leave your delivery in a safe place, please leave instructions in the delivery options at the payment stage. If you opt to have your parcel left in a safe place, we cannot accept responsibility for any damages or loss. No insurance claims will be entertained.
Please note that shipments in the US cannot be left and will have to be signed for.
Before you sign for a shipment, please check the condition of the boxes. If they are wet or damaged, please refuse the delivery and sign the courier's forms as necessary.
It is very important you get in touch with us as soon as possible along with photos of the damage. Please retain all original packaging.
We are unable to offer refunds for orders which sustain damage in transit that do not have insurance cover.
We are now able to offer our UK & EU customers insurance through our courier at a cost of 3% of the hammer price excluding postage. Please note the insurance premium attract VAT.
If you do NOT want to take out insurance, you must select that option at the checkout stage of the purchase.
Customers from all other countries are able to take out insurance with Angels' Share Scotland Ltd at 3% of the hammer price (there will be no VAT applicable outside the UK)
Please retain all the original packaging and get in touch with us as soon as possible. You will need to supply us with photos of the damage in order to be able to process a claim.
No refunds will be given if there is no evidence provided of the damage / breakage of the bottles.
We will discuss this with you but either via the method of payment or as a credit against your account.
