Hi folks and welcome to the first full auction of 2015. We start the new year as we ended the old one - with a veritable smorgasbord of Scotches, a bevvy of beautiful bourbons, a jamboree of Japan's finest and another alphabetically apt alliteration of the rest!
In no particular order (but take a deep breath) more than 21 bottles over 40 years old, including a 43 year old Glenfarclas which spent its days slumbering in a cognac cask, three Ben Nevises aged 45, a 1954 Linkwood, 1952 Glenlochy at an astonishing 49 years old and a 1955 Strathisla-Glenlivet.
We have 43 Karuizawas, 9 from Ichiro, 7 from Hanyu, 3 from Yoichi and 34 from Yamazaki. We have bourbons, including a 16 year old from A H Hirsch and a 23 year old from Old Rip Van Winkle. The Pappy is there too, 20 and 23 year old expressions.
From the Scottish glens we have a highly unusual independent bottling of Glenfarclas from 1965, a Glenfiddich single cask from 1964 and a Glenlossie over 25 years old. There's a 37 year old Lagavulin and a Ladyburn from 1973. And there is Macallan. All the usual suspects, including Master of Photography Annie Leibovitz and Elliott Erwitt, and a debut for Daido Moriyama's Remix Remixed.
We begin 2015 as we left off from 2014, with an incredible range of high-end collectibles, balanced by our traditional easy buy, easy drink drams - and everything in between. As usual our advice is, dive in, have a good rake around and get bidding. And remember: Don't lose your bottle!
Kind regards from Glasgow
