The oldest distillery on Islay Bowmore has been described as the Grande Dame of the island. It still has it's own floor maltings which make up about 30% of their requirements. Their No. 1 vaults are the oldest maturation warehouse in Scotland and the only one below sea level.
Dawn is Bowmore finished in Ruby Port casks, and tasting of "grapes, plums, fig-rolls and blackcurrant" according to the distillers.
Discontinued in January 2007.
