Lot number: 104-04888

For a period, Campbeltown was the undisputed Whisky Capital of the World, boasting over 30 distilleries operating simultaneously at its peak. Locally available peat, barley and coal, coupled with a quick steamship service to Glasgow meant this thriving industry lasted into the early 20th Century. Alas; ultimately (and perhaps inevitably) it proved unsustainable, and by 1935 the bubble had well and truly burst, with only Springbank and Glen Scotia distilleries remaining.

The family owned Springbank is unique in that it remains the only distillery in Scotland where 100% of the production process is carried out on site, and while it produces three distinct styles (in Springbank, Longrow, and Hazelburn), its eponymous Springbank expression still accounts for the lion's share of production. A medium peated, two and a half times distilled spirit, Springbank is complex, robust and never boring!

Only 50 of these sets were issued to collectors worldwide once they had collected all 25 to 50 Year Old bottlings. Not only that but they had to send proof to the distillery! Beautifully presented in a stunning brass-bound, velvet-lined lockable wooden case. It also comes with a certificate of authenticity from the distillery signed by Hedley G Wright, great great great grandson of the man who started it all.

This set comprises of 6 x 20cl bottles; 25 Year Old, 30 Year Old, 35 Year Old, 40 Year Old, 45 Year Old and a 50 Year Old.

No ABVs stated / 20cl x 6

Bottle Number: 44 / 50
