Lot number: 065-0711

Winning bid: £490

Connoisseurs Choice is one of the most easily recognised ranges from the independent bottler Gordon & MacPhail. This range was launched back in the 1960s, a period where most malts were used in blends so the was quite an unusual move for the company. But the range has proved to be a hit for over 35 years.

Kinclaith is one of the rarest malts, due to the very short life of the distillery. It was founded in 1957 and closed only 18 years later in 1975.

As Kinclaith was built to supply the single malt for the famous blend Long John, there was never any official release of Kinclaith. We can thank the independent bottlers like Gordon & MacPhail for providing the opportunity to taste this very scarce whisky.
