Bruichladdich was established in 1881 and has changed hands many times over the years. Owned by French spirit group Remy Martin Bruichladdich distill, mature and bottle their whisky on site as well as using barley from the surrounding farms. Since their renaissance in 2001 their range of whiskies are bottled without added colour or chill filtration and at 46% ABV and above. They are pioneers of cask management, peating levels and presentation.
Bottled not long after the 2001 resurrection of the distillery this was called one of the jewels of the old regime. This was voted Import Malt of the Year by the Malt Advocate Magazine in 2003.
