Launched by William Grant - founder of the Glenfiddich distillery - in 1898, Grant's is Scotland's oldest continuously family-run, blended whisky maker. William's rise from cattle herder to whisky baron is one of the great tales in Scotch. In 1903, William employed his son-in-law Charles Gordon and six years later he embarked on a world tour spreading the word about Grant's (or, as it was then called, Grant's Standfast after the clan motto: 'Standfast Craigellachie') and making the brand into the worldwide success it is today.
This spooky blend from William Grant's Rare Cask Reserve range contains whisky from three silent distilleries selected by Master Blender Brian Kinsman. Inverleven, which was mothballed in 1991, Ladyburn which closed its doors in 1975, and Dumbarton was "ghosted" in 2002.
