Sold in America during prohibition for medical purposes, due to the Surgeon General refusing to believe it could be drunk for pleasure, Laphroaig was awarded a Royal Warrant by Prince Charles in 1994. The biggest selling single malt from Islay, Laphroaig is one of the last distilleries using its own floor maltings.
An extremely rare Laphroaig - Originally released around the year 2000, this great dram is becoming rarer and rarer. Laphroaig 30 year old has gained many plaudits, including a Double Gold Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2005.
