Auchentoshan Classic IIP Accreditation
Lot number: 079-1877
Winning bid: £25
As well as being a notoriously challenging tongue twister for American whisky aficionados, Auchentoshan distillery is noteworthy for being one of the few buildings not damaged during the Clydebank Blitz of 1941. Unfortunately one of it's warehouses wasn't so lucky, and in fact the picturesque pond just outside the distillery is actually a bomb crater.
It remains the only distillery in Scotland doing 100% triple distillation, and one of the very few where all the production is bottled as single malt.
The Classic was a no-age-statement Auchentoshan released in 2008. Classic was aimed at drawing in new drinkers to single malts. This has been discontinued for its new expression called American Oak
Specially bottled to celebrate Morrison Bowmore becoming an IIP accredited employer in 2008.
Cask Type: Bourbon Cask
40% ABV / 70cl
