Highly prized for blending, Balmenach uses a worm tub to achieve a 'meaty' aspect seldom seen in Speyside whiskies. The fingerprint malt in InverHouse's Hanky Bannister blend, there are no official bottlings of Balmenach but it is bottled as a single malt by Aberko and called Deerstalker. In 2009, the distillery began production of Caorunn gin which has become one of the biggest super-premium gins in the UK.
