On the shores of Bassenthwaite Lake, near Keswick in The Lake District UNESCO World Heritage Site, The Lakes Distillery is an award-winning whisky distillery attracting over 100,000 visitors each year.
In September 2019, The Lakes released The Whiskymaker's Reserve No.1, the distillery's first widely available single malt whisky.
The Genesis was first matured in Oloroso hogsheads before it was finished in casks made-up of American and European oak to add a layer of dried fruit and vanilla.
Finally, these two components were married together in orange wine casks from the Spanish region of Andalusia and bottled at cask strength.
