Matusalem rum was established in 1872 by Pablo Nonell in Santiago de Cuba. The brand is known for its complex, velvety-smooth spirits, and it was once one of the most sought-after rums during Cuba’s Golden Age, the 1920’s - 1950’s.
Matusalem is also notable for pioneering the use of the Spanish Solera system of aging in rum, a technique typically used for sherry and fortified wines and brandy.
