Established in Ådalen, Sweden in 2010, High Coast Distillery was previously known as Box but changed its name in 2018 after blender Compass Box raised issues regarding confusion between the two companies. The distillery sits on the World Heritage site in the High Coast region - hence the new name - alongside the Ångermanälvenin in northern Sweden. It is one of the most northerly whisky distilleries in the world and aims to embrace the unique conditions of the local landscape. They are fast garnering a sterling reputation for their peated and unpeated styles.
Sixty Three is a peated (63ppm) single malt whisky that was matured in a 63 litre cask where the 63rd parallel north cuts through warehouse 3. Oh... and it’s bottled at 63% ABV too.
