Highland Queen Circa 1970’s
Lot number: 168-03956
Winning bid: £45
Founded in 1893 In Leith by Roderick Macdonald this blend has at its heart Glenmorangie, a distillery purchased by Roderick to supply the base of his whisky, and Glen Moray. (at that time called Glen Moray-Glenlivet) Named for Leith’s connection with Mary Queen Of Scots when in 1561 she landed at the port of Leith and rode on her horse, an image that adorns the labels of this blend. In 2008, Highland Queen was sold to Picard Vins et Spiriteux, owner of the Tullibardine distillery.
We estimate this was bottled circa 1970’s.
