Appleton Estate 2002 20 Year Old Hearts Collection

Appleton Estate - the oldest and possibly most famous of Jamaica’s sugarcane estates - is known for its long-aging process which creates rich butterscotch flavours. The distillery is based in the beautiful and fertile Nassau Valley and is the only rum in the world to have a terroir (a specific climate, soil, and geographic distinction) as unique as in this setting. Every process throughout production is carefully managed using the selection of sugarcane varieties grown on the estate and the natural culture of yeast used in the fermentation stage.

In 1997, Appleton Estate’s Master Blender, Joy Spence was the first woman in the world to become a Master Blender of rum. In fact, her nose is insured for $1,000,000. NASA also employed Joy to smell space dust to tell people what space smells like, .....apparently raspberries!
