E. Normandin & Co. was established in the 18th century, with records stating 1755 as the founding date. Though it eventually merged with other houses to become part of GEMACO, which is now owned by Marie Brizard. The company was founded with a focus on quality, particularly during the later half of the 19th century.
The Normandin family continues the Cognac tradition through the Normandin-Mercier brand, which is now run by Edouard Normandin, who brings a modern perspective to the traditional house. The house’s Cognacs are a result of five generations of expertise, a commitment to excellent quality and careful selection of eaux-de-vie.
The presence of an ancient oak forest on the estate, provides a source for their barrels. This is a unique and notable aspect of Normandin-Mercier.
