In 1749, Italian Giacomo Justerini travelled to London to try to win the heart of famous opera singer, Margherita Bellino; despite failing to do this, he stayed in the capital and established a wine merchant with George Johnson. In 1831, the business was acquired by Alfred Brooks and thus the name was born. This 12 year old version was bottled for the French market.
