Built to straddle the banks of the Forth-Clyde canal in 1840, Rosebank distillery’s Lowland location in Falkirk between Glasgow and Edinburgh produced a still highly revered single malt. In 1914, as a limited company, Rosebank became one of the founding members of the Scottish Malt Distillers Ltd. It manufactured consistently all the way into the early 90’s, pausing only under the duress of World War.
After an inspection in 1990’s, the cost of mandatory repairs, and upgrades to the distillery would amount to over £2 Million. Which actually sunk the distillery in the end. Whisky aficionados across the land mourned, who deemed their produce as ‘the most distinguished Lowland malt’.
A new spirit from their new stills and brand new distillery, which opened in June 2024.
