The name “Highland Queen” was given by Macdonald & Muir Ltd to commemorate the association between Mary queen of Scots and Leith Harbour where she landed in 1561 on arrival from France. At one time the company were also owners of Glenmorangie and Glen Moray, although these days they focus mainly on the export markets for their blends.
