Daftmill 2008 Single Cask #68 for The Whisky Bars Of Scotland
Lot number: 170-01764
Winning bid: £2,100
Daftmill Farmhouse was granted a license in 2003 allowing its first distillation to take place in December 2005. As an independent distiller, owner Francis Cuthbert’s main aim was to produce a light Lowland whisky, but - as the site is still an active farm - the distillery has a silent season in spring and autumn whilst work happens in the fields.
All the barley needed is grown on Daftmill Farm. The Cuthbert brothers who own the site have long grown malting barley. These days a small percentage of the crop is diverted for their own use. This is traditional field-to-bottle whisky making at it’s best.
