Duncan Taylor & Company presides over the ownership of one of the largest privately-held collections of Scotch whisky casks. Though the company’s origins lie in Glasgow as a whisky merchant and broker, its headquarters are in the North East of Scotland - close to Speyside - and it has complete control of the entire production process; from cask selection and management, through “in-house” product and packaging design to its own “under bond” bottling facilities.
The Octave range from Duncan Taylor highlights their experimentation with differing cask sizes for maturation. The suggestion is that the smaller the cask, the more interaction there is between the wood and the spirit within a shorter period of time leading to a faster “melding” process.
