Originating in 1703 and named after former owner and inheritor of the distillery Sir John Gay Alleyne, 1st baronet of Four Hill, Mount Gay is said to be the oldest existing rum brand in the world and was acquired by Remy Cointreau in 1989. Mount Gay distillery is based on the beautiful and friendly island of Mount Gay; the perfect environment for rum-production.
