Long Pond 2009 Plantation For The Whisky Exchange 20th Anniversary

Long Pond distillery in Jamaica has a long and storied history dating back to 1753. The rum from this distillery was used to establish the Captain Morgan brand. Owned at one point by J.B. Sherriff & Co. who also owned Bowmore distillery, the distillery changed hands many times over the years and is now co-owned by Maison Ferrand. In 2018, 65,000 litres of fresh rum were destroyed in a large fire at the sugar estate but luckily the stills were unaffected.
