Inspired by a visit to the Kilchoman Distillery in 2012, Taiko Nakamura started thinking about setting up a distillery of his own back home. Eventually he did and Shizuoka distillery was opened in February of 2017. The Distillery has purchased part of the equipment from the legendary Karuizawa at auction. Of the three pot stills only one was useable with the other now being put on display in tribute to the lost legendary distillery.
This release brings together the fruity, light whisky profile from the ex-Karuizawa still and the heavy, lengthier whisky from the wood-fired still.
