Reverend Elijah Craig is the man credited by Heaven Hill with improving Kentucky Bourbon after he used casks that had been damaged during a fire in this warehouse. These accidentally charred casks improved the flavour of the spirit and henceforth all Bourbon must now be aged in charred casks and the Baptist preacher became known as “The Father of Bourbon”.
