In 1949 William Delme Evans began work converting a brewery into what is now the Tullibardine distillery; and as the Gleneagles Brewery in Blackford had previously been brewing alcohol since 1488, it is one of the oldest sites in Scotland for distilling and brewing. After being silent from 1994 to 2003, Tullibardine is now owned by Picard Vins & Spiritueux, who bought it in 2011.
This whisky as been finished in casks which previously held the 2008 Galateo Banyuls - a wine fortified like port from the hand harvested Grenache Noir in southern France.
