One of Glasgow’s Premier Independent Whisky Bottling Companies was established in 2016 by Iain Croucher. At North Star Spirits, they are dedicated to unearthing the hidden gems within the Scotch Whisky realm, meticulously curating casks and spirits that ignite intriguing discussions. North Star bottle between 6-9 casks every quarter. They currently have three parts to the business: The Single Cask Malt Whisky, Blended Malts and Blended Scotch. They have also bottled a couple of Rums and liqueurs as well.
North Star focuses its energies on the curiosities, peculiar oddities and obscurities. Whisky as it comes, straight from the cask and into a bottle. The Blended Malt range is named after the star VEGA and the Blended Scotch range generally goes under the star named SPICA.
They are also currently building a new distillery and visitor centre in the heart of Campbeltown called Dal Riata.
Every year, there is a very small parcel of whisky made available for a Shopsmart store in Blanefield. These are usually named either Campsie Dram or Netherton. The “Campsie Dram” name is associated with the Netherton area in Campsie Just north of Glasgow city, with the bottled whisky being a tribute to the area.
