This unassuming bottle of Japanese whisky comes from the former distilling giant, Ocean. At one time they were in the top three distillers in Japan although these days most of their empire falls under the Kirin brand.
You may be wondering why this may be of particular interest to whisky drinkers and collectors? Well one of the distilleries owned by Ocean was the now legendary Karuizawa. This blend is likely to contain a healthy portion of Karuizawa malt as well as Kawasaki grain as part of the recipe. And what’s not to like about a “pleasant whisky”?
