Winning bid: £30

Established in Dublin in 1823 by Alexander Findlater, the company was originally named “The Irish & Scotch Whiskey Stores” but was then renamed after the owner and the business began to expand throughout the city selling beers, wines, and tea. From an early point in Findlater’s history they were producing blended whisky despite the difficulties in finding supply over the years: the Glasgow Distilling Company provided them with grain and malt whiskies from 1831. The company bottled Findlater Scotch Whisky until the 1980s with a range of expressions and now the more collectible blends are sold in Wedgewood decanters.
