The Isle of Harris distillery started in 2015 with just 10 people and had the ambition to double over the next five years. Today they have over 50 employees which is quite a high number since less than 2000 people are living on the island!
The Hearach is the first single malt whisky from the Isle of Harris with eight different batches being released. Every batch is made with the same recipe but they do have a few subtle differences between them.
Chateau Biac:
Chateau Biac dates back to 1755 and is situated near the Garonne river in Bordeaux. The current owners, The Asseily family struck up a friendship with the Isle of Harris distillery and a beautiful collaboration was born. The French oak barrels made their way over from chateau to distillery in 2018 and 2019 and once held their highly prized Secret de Chateau Biac sweet white wine.
