Founded in 1882 by Charles Mackay and James Whyte, the company’s first blended whisky was Whyte & Mackay Special and proved hugely popular in the UK and other English-speaking countries worldwide. Over the years, Whyte & Mackay have either taken over or merged with the owners of several distilleries including Dalmore, Fettercairn and Tomintoul, and later, their own grain distillery; Invergordon.
Whisky Works is a branch of Whyte & Mackay created by whisky-maker Gregg Glass. It is a boutique blending and bottling house releasing whisky twice a year which each batch containing one classic whisky and one experiment.
