James MacArthur was founded in 1982 and began with the goal of increasing the visibility of lesser known or closed distilleries to ensure that their malts were made more accessible to the wider public. With bottling ranging from 10 to 35 years old, this independent bottler seeks to provide whisky in its most natural state which means that none of their bottlings are chill filtered or have any additional colouring.
