One of the world’s most modern distilleries, opened in 1999, Mackmyra utilises Swedish Oak, barley and natural spring water to produce whisky without additives and with a distinct Swedish character. The team behind the distillery approached its creation by questioning why Sweden - with its pure water sources and fresh local crops - had no previous whisky-producing culture. Today, they follow the same techniques they started out with; obeying the rules of traditional production, but with a Swedish twist!
