The Isle of Harris distillery started in 2015 with just 10 people and had the ambition to double over the next five years. Today they have over 50 employees which is quite a high number since less than 2000 people are living on the island!
The Hearach whiskies are the first, historic single malts from the Isle of Harris, as the distillery revives the distilling traditions lost during the Pabbay clearances of the 1840s. Every drop of these new drams are being distilled by local people to produce special spirits which have been matured, married, and bottled on the beautiful Hebridean island.
This special 2024 release of ‘The 1916’ was available only to the exclusive 1916 club members and created to accompany their inaugural releases from 2023.
