Glenora distillery was Bruce Jardine’s dream, the original owner and founder. He had a vision of building a distillery in a Scottish part of Cape Breton Island. Bruce asked for help of the expertise at the Bowmore distillery, who kindly helped with production training and sourcing out copper pot stills and mash tun for the distillery. In 1994, the distillery was acquired by new owners who had Scottish ancestors and Cape Breton roots. It wasn’t until late 2000 when they released their first bottling under the name Glen Breton.
