Gordon’s Spring Cap Bottle
Lot number: 178-02812
Winning bid: £100
Gordon’s gin was first introduced in Southwark in 1769, amalgamated with Charles Tanqueray & Co in 1898 and is now manufactured by Diageo. The original family name returned home to Scotland when Gordon & Co moved to Cameron Bridge, Fife when the merger occurred. Its wild boar logo mirrors the Gordon family crest; representing the legendary tale of a member of the Gordon clan saving the King of Scotland from the animal while out hunting. It remains the most iconic gin in the UK and even the United States helped by its New Jersey distillery.
An older bottle of Gordon’s Gin.
