John Dewar & Sons Discovery Set 3 x 20cl

John Dewar began blending whisky at his shop on Perth High Street in the mid 19th century, and upon his death in 1880 the business passed to his two sons, John and Tommy. The extroverted Tommy subsequently embarked on a two year odyssey around the globe, spreading word of the brand far and wide. His legendary exploits (which included throwing empty bottles of Dewar’s containing reward notes overboard during his voyage) helped grow the brand from its humble beginnings to the giant it is today. It is now become one of the best known brands in scotch whisky.

Founded in 1846 by John Dewar, the Dewar’s brand has been successfully grown into a hugely respected and globally renowned creator of blended whiskies. Dewar’s Whisky is actually the world’s most awarded and celebrated blended Scotch Whisky, having collected over 1000 awards so far! They even sent President Benjamin Harrison an 18 gallon cask of their blended whisky in 1891 whilst he was In US office, ruffling quite a few feathers amongst their overseas competitors! The company is still going strong today with new releases allowing for a new generation to enjoy the beautifully blended whisky of Dewar’s and Sons.
