One of the few distilleries that has spirit stills that are larger than its wash stills, Dufftown’s whisky is mainly found in blends such as Bell’s. Once the biggest of Diageo’s distilleries when it increased its stills to eight in 1979, it joined the Singleton family in 2006 with Glendullan and Glen Ord and is watched over by Dr Mathew Crow. In 2014, the Singleton Tailfire and Sunray were launched.
A relaunched Singleton, this time from Dufftown, to replace the now-defunct Singleton of Auchroisk. This smooth, mellow dram is designed to attract new drinkers to the malt category, while its smart packaging has ensured its popularity as a gift.
