Founded in 1862, Bacardi is the largest privately held, family-owned spirits company in the world. Originally established by Spanish wine merchant Don Facundo Bacardi Masso in Santiago de Cuba, the company has lived through high times and revolutions and is recognised by its bat logo; a nod to the fruit bats making a home in the distillery. Although mainly known for its white rum, Bacardi Limited now has a massive portfolio of brands under its belt including Dewar’s Whisky, Grey Goose Vodka, and Martini.
