An Islay 1990 33 Year Old Collective Series
Lot number: 182-03958
Winning bid: £260
In a remote location, deep in the Northern Scottish Highlands, The Ardross Distillery rises from the dilapidated ruins of a 19th Century farmstead (close to Dalmore) and carves an impressive silhouette on the landscape.
In 2015, entrepreneur Barthélémy Brosseau teamed up with industry legend, Andrew Rankin, formerly of Morrison Bowmore and Chivas Brothers to try and find a suitable site for the new £30 million project.
Blessed with the pure water of Loch Dubh, many centuries of farming and experience give rise to the character of the Ardross whisky. The first spirit ran from the stills in 2019. Rankin and the team had anticipated a few months of iterating before they landed on their desired flavour profile. Much to everyone’s surprise, this was 95% achieved after the first distillation.
