Lot number: 183-01661

Winning bid: £700

Launched by William Grant - founder of the Glenfiddich distillery - in 1898, Grant’s is Scotland’s oldest continuously family-run, blended whisky maker. William’s rise from cattle herder to whisky baron is one of the great tales in Scotch. In 1903, William employed his son-in-law Charles Gordon and six years later he embarked on a world tour spreading the word about Grant’s (or, as it was then called, Grant’s Standfast after the clan motto: ‘Standfast Craigellachie’) and making the brand into the worldwide success it is today.

This limited edition blended malt comes from private stocks of the Gordon family, with this in mind it would be safe to say it contains Glenfiddich and The Balvenie.

Hazelwood gets its name from the family home in Dufftown, Hazelwood House.
