This young Italian whisky is created using a combination of malted barley, rye and malted wheat. The name "Alba" has a double meaning, in that it's Gaelic for "Scotland" and Italian for "Dawn". As well as a quirky mash bill, the Alba also benefits from a somewhat unconventional maturation; with an initial maturation in Marsala sweet wine casks, before being finished in cask shipped from Islay that previously held peated whisky.
