The 126th Auction

Well it’s nearly that time of year again … the most dram-derful time of the year and we’re all getting into the festive spirit here at SWA!

Our little elves have been working tirelessly to bring you this colossal festive auction just in time for Santa. Whether it's Christmas cocktails or dreamy fireside drams, we have something to tickle your tastebuds. You snow the score by now....get stuck in, explore our winter wonderland and fill your boots!

Our first Christmas cracker comes from the depths of the G&M warehouses. Produced on the snowy Isle of Skye a whopping 64 years ago this humble elf has been waiting to find a new home to enjoy the festivities. Snow some love this year and welcome this cracker to Christmas dinner.

Next under the mistletoe is a true one of a kind. A fine Bruichladdich specially selected by whisky legend Jim McEwan to celebrate the 100th birthday of Islay legend Lily Macdougal. Known locally as “Lily Fish” this hebridean gem lived for 100 years helping on many community projects and even playing the bagpipes in the Islay pipe band! This beautiful dark dram is a 1 of 1 (something we rarely see nowadays). A true piece of history with a very sentimental story behind it.

Dashing through to our 3rd merry malt we have a Speyside sleigh smasher in the Macallan 1951 Fine and Rare. With decades of history crammed into one sweet treacle dram, this beauty has done its time in the Macallan igloo before gracing us with its presence. Matured in sherry butts for over 50 years this is the big present, not just a stocking filler.

Last amongst our standouts this month we have a blast from the past, a Port Ellen 1969 Connoisseur's Choice. At 15 Years Old and 75cl this jingle juice is sure to make you feel special this year. Port Ellen Distillery may be gone but is far from forgotten, so treat yourself to this collectors dream and celebrate in style. Christmas time is for sharing, don't be a scrooge and welcome this merry malt to the family this year.
