Welcome one and all to this our 130th auction! The summer months are fast approaching so what better time to stock up on all your favourite tipples for the (hopefully) sunny months ahead. We have an awesome selection of drams this month from the old and venerable to some brand spanking new releases, not to mention over 250 charity bottlings to mark the 40th anniversary of the Falklands War with all proceeds going to charity. So, without further ado let’s delve into some of the highlights in this month’s auction.

First up we love a really old whisky here at Scotch Whisky Auctions (let’s be honest, who doesn’t?) so this Macallan-Glenlivet 1936 37 Year Old Gordon & MacPhail 75cl certainly fits the bill. Distilled when Edward VIII was on the throne this old Macallan was aged for 37 long years before being bottled by one of the best independent bottlers around, Gordon & MacPhail. This a rare bottling which is rarely seen at auction, so we expect this bottle to be in high demand.

If well aged Macallans are your thing but indie bottlers aren’t then look no further than this Macallan 40 Year Old The Red Collection. Crafted by Macallan’s first female Master Whisky Maker Kirsteen Campbell, The Red Collection has rightfully taken its place amongst the vast array of high-end releases from one of the whisky world’s most desirable distilleries. As always Macallans of this calibre are selling well at auction, but luckily for you we have two in this month’s auction doubling your chances of owning this fantastic bottle.

From one incredibly desirable distillery to another, this Springbank 1951 33 Year Old Cadenhead’s is sure to turn some heads in this month’s auction. Independent bottlers don’t come much more reputable than Cadenhead’s and a Springbank of this era is hard to find. Given the soaring popularity of the Campbeltown distillery right now vintages like this will be getting ever rarer as bottles are sequestered in collections around the world.

As with the Macallans, if an official bottling is what you are after how about this Springbank 32 Year Old. One of only 2400 bottles released way back in 2004 this Springbank is about as old as official Springbanks get outside of their famed Millennium Collection. All evidence points to Springbank bottles becoming the next ‘must have’ in the world of whisky collecting so bottles as good as this are sure to see their prices grow in the coming years. Be sure to watchlist this one if your interest is piqued because we expect older bottlings of Springbank to be coveted by collectors the world over going forward.

Finally this month to mark the 40th anniversary of the Falklands War we will be auctioning 255 bottles of a Glen Moray Pauillac Single Cask with all proceeds going to The Falklands Veterans Association and The South Atlantic Medal Association. All bottles are individually signed by Nigel Phillips CBE (Governor of The Falkland Islands and High Commissioner of South Georgia & Sandwich Islands) and Major General Julian Thompson (CB, OBE– Commander 3 Commando Brigade). A number of the bottles have also been signed by other key figures in the engagement.

Well, the auction awaits so time to start browsing and building your watchlist and as always……
